Located approximately 5 km from Einasleigh, approximately 4 hours to Townsville, Charters Towers or Cairns. Approximately 300 km sealed road with the balance being good formed gravel.

Area and Tenure
Lot 5258 PPH18/5259 being an approximate area of 22,000 ha (54,362 acres) expires March 2013. An application for the lease renewal is in process.

The property is a mixture of Einasleigh River flats of heavy black and grey clay soils (approximately 10%). Mixed Box country with Ironbark some Sandalwood on mixed grey or red soils (approximately 12%) open ironbark and bloodwood forest on red soil ridges (approximately 68%) balance harder ridges, hills and mountains.

The property is grassed with urochloa and black spear grass, Indian couch on river and creek flats. Seca and Stylo are spreading through the property.

Water and Rainfall
Red Rock is watered by double frontage to the Einasleigh River (Permanent). There are approximately 15 walk-in dams (permanent) and 1 spring. A bore connected to power supplies the homestead area and main stock yards.

Red Rock has had an annual average rainfall of approximately 675ml (27 inches) for the past 10 years. There has been approximately 56 ml recorded for July.

The boundary is fully fenced with 3 barbs on steel pickets. Internal fencing consists of approximately 8 main paddocks, plus holdings paddocks and mustering squares all with 3 barb on steel posts.

Carrying Capacity
As the property is well watered and located in a reliable rainfall area, it would conservatively carry approximately 1 beast to 18 acres i.e. 3,000 cow and calf unit.

Red Rock is being offered with approximately 1,100 breeding cows, approximately 300 calves and approximately 45 bulls. A recent muster has cleaned out all slow breeders and old cows. The herd is predominantly good quality Brahman and the bulls a mix of Brahman and Charbray.

“Red Rock” is well located with good access to the North South East or West. The property has very little problem with weeds or pests and is well grassed after being lightly stocked over the past 3-4 years. The river and the dam ensure a good reliable water supply evenly spread over the property.
